IN 1987, ORAL LEE BROWN ADOPTED A FIRST-GRADE CLASS AND PROMISED THEM IF THEY STAYED IN SCHOOL AND GOT ADMITTED TO COLLEGE, SHE WOULD PAY FOR THEIR COLLEGE EDUCATION. NOT ONLY DID SHE KEEP HER PROMISE TO THE FIRST CLASS OF STUDENTS, BUT TO DATE, 176 STUDENTS FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES HAVE RECEIVED MENTORING, TUTORING, AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT FROM THE ORAL LEE BROWN FOUNDATION FOR COLLEGE.

"Building A Tradition of Excellence" gaining a quality education and being self-reliant.
Former NBA player, a public speaker, a broadcast analyst for the Utah Jazz and the University of Utah, an actor, and a singer/songwriter. Get your ticket now!
The youth are our Future leaders and we have the task of ensuring they are ready to lead and guide us into the future. All the funds we raise are for Supporting, Mentoring, Tutoring, Leadership, Art, and Scholarships, programs for our After school, and Saturday programs at
the Foundation. We want to see you at the Gala to enjoy and celebrate our future leaders.

In 2023, the OLBF set up the David Osborne Scholarship in honor of their valued donor and board advisor. The Osborne children will present the $10,000 award to a qualified student who excels in Technology or Engineering at the Annual Gala on August 5, 2023.

Art Tablets donations were delivered to our Students!
Thank you, Yours Humanly, for your donation of Art Tablets. These tablets help bridge the digital divide in disadvantaged communities of color like ours. Some blessed OLBF students in the Art program received these graphics and drawing Art Tablets. With the stylus pen, they can draw, create, and design on tablets. This technology is next level with Art creations. Students and Donors are pictured below.

Students Corner: During Saturday School OLBF Youth receive mentoring, tutoring, Money Mgmt., Art lessons, and life & College prep. Also, during Christmas, the high school students assisted with handing out toys to the community. The foundation continues to accept applications to help bring our Youth to academic grade level and beyond. Students who matriculate through the programs receive a great opportunity to attend and flourish in College, and/or the Work Force to be productive citizens in the communities they live in. |

Past Events: The holiday season is a time of giving and sharing! It's also a time to think about those in need and how we can help them have a better holiday season. On Christmas day Ms. Brown and Xavier provided hot meals to unhoused individuals located on the corridor of International Blvd in the East Oakland community. Glenn, Lea, Xavier, Parker, and Amaryllyss high school students of the foundation spearheaded the drive to collect the warm blankets, and socks to distribute. The high school students were instrumental in passing out over 400 gifts to community families. They also volunteered during their winter vacation helping to package and pass out food with a local church. Through the efforts of the OLBF and our Students, many families were able to receive a bag of food, and gifts for their children, and the unhoused received a hot meal. By providing these services, we made sure that everyone had the chance to experience the joys of the holidays. We thank the youth and Ms. Brown for an excellent Christmas 2022 of caring and sharing. |
